I did my leaving cert in 2015, I got my first choice in college, secondary school science teaching and I graduated from that course in 2019 with a first class honors. I started my PhD in 2020 and I am based full time in a Teagasc research centre in Fermoy, Co. Cork

I study how different milk is around the country and see what milk is most suited to making different dairy products

Some milk is better suited to making cheese if it is high in protein or some milk high in fat would be better for making butter. I study the composition of milk and try to predict what products milk from different areas is better suited to.

My Typical Day
I wake at 6.30am and go out to feed my horse. Then I have breakfast and start work. I work in the lab in the mornings and after lunch I work at a computer looking at my results. In the evenings I usually go for a walk or meet with friends.

To have a big yard with lots of horses, adopt 5 dogs and have an animal shelter for rescue horses.
