I never dreamt I would become a scientist. I simply kept learning. I officially became a scientist when I received my PhD when I was 33.

If you count it from when I started learning science in school, 16.. If you count it from when I tried experiments at home and made my parents go crazy, probably 9.

I was 22 when I started to work on my first own project during my master thesis. Of course, I needed a lot of guidance from my supervisor and more senior colleagues, but I think it still counts because I was responsible for the project.
