Question: what inspired you to try make a treatment for breast cancer

I wanted to study a specific protein and how it works in protecting cells from DNA damage, and we needed a drug to do that- so we made one!
Once we made the drug we realised that it had would kill only cancer cells- which we (and others) know kills cancer in mice. We hope that one day we can use the drug in people- but lots more work to get to human trials.
