I wanted to be a scientist to understand better what was around me. The mountains, the lakes, animals, plants, I was just curious about natural environment and how it was working. Science provides the tools to understand all of that and explore a bit more in detail how things work.

I liked science a wee bit in school. I opted for engineering instead because I liked to work with functional robotic models. I was inspired to move toward applied science because of the other science enthusiasts around me and I absolutely loved the laser-based projects I was working with. Both fields combined feels like a superpower and it taught me a new outlook to nature around us.

I wanted to be a scientist to understand better what was inside me. How different cells in the body work, and what physical concepts determines their behaviour. The longer I work in this field, the more important it becomes to me that my work is useful.

I became interested in biology when I was 16 years old and I was always interested in how things work, why certain things exists and why do we need them. I’m always interested in figuring out how things work as well.
