Not so much. I spent a lot of my time laughing, telling jokes, or laughing at disaster in the lab. I like to think I’m reasonably bright, but I still do stupid things from time to time (trying to add water to the bit of the coffee machine where teh coffee goes happens too often, it may be a sign of the need for coffee rather than stupidity though)

Hmmm……difficult question but still I would go with a yes as I am actively interested in learning. I think the one thing that makes me intellectual is my curiosity to know everything. And believe me if anyone even make a conscious effort to be more curious they can broaden their horizons and help them to become what we all call “more intelligent”. I just love to go online and explore the world in depth.
But there are topics on which I feel embarrassed because I can’t participate in the conversation e.g. sports ….I love sports, I play squash, volleyball but if you will ask me about the players I will never have an answer for that. So you can’t call me intellectual on those topics.
But I am not one person who likes to be intellect all the time and will be involved in intellectual conversations always. I am a friendly person who loves to ride motorbikes, enjoy sports, travelling and generally enjoy everything I do. -

Am I an intellectual person? I have to ponder this question, which by definition makes me an intellectual person…I see your fancy little trap there wimpycrayon!
Do I live in my head a bit? Yes I do. I like solving problems and a lot of the time that involves looking at data or a graph of how a borehole is pumping water and trying to figure out what’s happening underground. In may ways no different to a mechanic solving a riddle while tuning a car. Yes I am an intellectual person and I’m lucky to get to use that in my job trying to figure out stuff, but that doesn’t mean I’m cleverer than the next person who happens to be working a more physical job, but may well be an expert amateur astronomer or literature buff. I was never in the A-class at school, but there are certain things I know more about and can do better than anyone else at my workplace. We all have our little niche; you’ll look a genius if somebody happens to ask you the right question; but a complete moron the next minute if they don’t. Don’t ask me about Biology or Middle to Late 18th Century French literature please…..
