      Hi Sinead,

Yes, doctors use keyhole surgery for pets. Vetinary science is also progressing at a fast rate. One of my friend’s dog had a keyhole surgery few months back.. It has few advantages over the traditional methods like fast recovery time after surgery, Less pain for animal and smaller wounds. But it is quite expensive surgery.

Yes lots of vet use it nowadays. Lots of human medical technology ends up being used by vets. Vets can even fit recycled pacemakers from humans to dogs whose hearts have rhythm problems. Pets are often very important members of a family and many people will go to great lengths to keep them healthy for longer. Just make sure your pet has health insurance!
