As we all know the Adam’s apple is the bump that is generally prominent in a man’s neck. It is made up of tough cartilage and its main function is to protect the fragile vocal chords. Puberty causes the changes in size and strength of larynx and the cartilage enlarges to accommodate it.
You know women’s also have Adam’s apple but they are smaller and more covered by fatty tissue.

Why is it called an adams apple? Did a man called Adam find it? Does it look like an apple? Would you ever get it taken out?
