• Question: Why is there so much water???

      All the water on earth probably came from Comets smashing into the earth over hundreds of millions of years! Same as all the other planets but any planet closer to the sun than Earth its too hot for liquid water and its all evaporated off. There is frozen and (possibly) liquid water on Mars. Out past Mars there’s no liquid water on the surface of any planet as its just too cold. That’s why people often say Earth is in the “Goldilocks Zone”.

      One exception is that Europa a moon of Jupiter is so big that it must have a warm core that is probably enough to have liquid water. All the cracks on the surface of Europa mean the crust must be moving most likely on a Mantel of liquid water. One of the best chances for life in the solar system!
