      Some physicists say that black is not colour but white is. The surface of an object reflects the wavelengths we see and absorbs all the rest. An apple reflects the red light we see and absorbs the rest. An object appears white when it reflects all wavelengths and black when it absorbs them all. Red, green and blue are the additive primary colors of the color spectrum.
