Great question cookie. Did you know that children in the UK and Ireland start school at the youngest age in the whole of Europe? The scientific evidence says that kids who start school at an older age (6 or 7 in Belgium and Finland) do as well, if not better in school than kids in the UK or Ireland. There is lots of research that suggests that our brains aren’t really ready to learn in school when we are 4 and we really should be doing lots of play and learning how to make friends instead!
