• Question: are mermaids real or is that just a myth ?

      Well, scientists haven’t found any mermaids yet, so I’m going to go with “myth” 🙂

      I think mermaids were the result of sailors spending too long looking at the sea after drinking a bit too much rum. Your brain starts seeing weird stuff when you’re drunk and there’s nothing about for miles but water…

      Hello,

      as a marine biologist I have to agree with Ciaran I am afraid!
      There are no mermaids.

      Sailors had to drink rum back in the day when their water was gone or spoiled from being at sea for weeks, so they might just have confused sea cows for mermaids!
