Microbes are fascinating little beggars, and scientists have only started looking seriously at the ones that live in your gut, and we're already finding amazing things like antibiotics that were probably always there but nobody thought to look.
I love working with microbes too, spreading bacteria on agar plates is oddly relaxing, watching them grow over a day or two feels almost like gardening, only instead of flowers it's tiny tiny cells that make odd colours, or produce useful chemicals that improve our health and such.
So yeah, I love my job. Not so much handling poo, that's a bit nasty, but I don't have to do that all the time. 🙂
