      Hello Kirby! Yes sometimes the kinds of science that help us understand the Sun can also be used to understand the planets. I also study how the sun may interact with the planets, especially the Earth. So it is important to figure out how the Earth an Sun are related and how they effect each other. That said, the Sun’s effect on the planets is far greater than the planets’ effects on the Sun….so I mainly concentrate on the Sun…it’s he most interesting object in the solar system, just don’t say that to the geophysicists 🙂
