Any time I’m doing lab work, I have to wear a lab coat. It’s protection from dangerous chemicals, and if I get bacteria on it, it stays in the lab while I can go home and not be a danger to anyone.

If I’m doing computer analysis, there’s no risk from chemicals of germs, so I’d only put the lab coat on if I was cold 🙂
