      Hi Tomasey!

I caught a European eel once during sampling in Lough Foyle, which was amazing, because they are critically endangered because there aren’t many of them around any more. So we let him go!

Someone once brought a hagfish back to my lab. Hagfish are fish that live in the deep sea and look like eels, but have no eyes or jaws (very weird!). They feed on dead animals on the sea floor, where its dark and they don’t need eyes.
Hagfish are actually really cool because they produce slime when someone attacks them, and lots of it.
