      Hey!

We are in the most stable period of our star/ sun right now. When the sun runs out of hydrogen it will become a red giant and its outer layers will expand and ultimately engulf the earth!
This is going to happen in 5 billion years from now – not any time soon.

We have about 5 billion years left from the sun before it goes kaput. It’s been burning for the last 4.5 billion years so it’s more of less middle-aged. It’s going nowhere for now 🙂
