      Oh yeah.

Teachers tried to influence me to become an accountant or business type, but I was having none of it. Science was way more interesting than ledgers and balancing books and made way more sense than economics. thanks to the secondary school education system being generally terrible at teaching English and Irish, I didn’t want to study them, either. But science was always fun and interesting and useful, so nobody was going to make me decide not to get into science as a career.

Yip! My dad suggested I became an optometrist- I thought being a psychologist would be more interesting!
