That sounds great. I can give you some general advice now, but if you comment below what your project will be like, then I can give you a few specific pointers as well.
If you do a little research project, then its really important you know what your question is, so you can think of ways to experiment, observed or test for it.
When you have found the questions and thought about how to do your experiment you need to plan for a lot of time! I always underestimate how long things will take, especially when things go wrong and won’t work at all. If that happens, take a step back and try again.
What also helps is finding out more about your marine animal or natural environment. When I work with my colleagues we try to split up in teams and find out different things about the topic and then tell each other.
If you get to go to the sea side then make sure you check the tides and bring clothes for any occasion. It happened to me way too often that I went to the seashore with sunglasses but without water proofs and then the weather had all the sudden changed making for an unpleasant experience.
If you tell me more about the project I can give you some specific advice too!
