      Hello,

      its most likely that an asteroid caused many dinosaur groups to become extinct around 66 million years ago.
      Scientists think that the massive heat from the impact and a world wide cooling period (from the ash of the impact crater which shaded earth and didn’t allow light through) resulted in the world wide extinction.
      There is a large crater called Chicxulub Crater at the tip of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico which is 110 miles in diameter, many scientists think thats where the asteroid hit.
      – Not all dinosaurs got extinct by the way: birds are dinosaurs that still roam the earth now!
