      Hello Wiley,

      I guess small ones I have found would be midgies (in science we call them Ceratopogonidae – its a group made up from different species), like the highland midge, which is are only 1mm long! You might have encountered them during a walk in the woods in summer. They are annoying and bite.

      The smallest insects in the world are super small, half the size of a highland midge – only 0.5mm long! They are called fairy flies, and can be found here and in tropical countries. But even if I would have come across it, I doubt I would have seen it, even with my glasses on!
