He was a physicist and philosopher, he came up with the Bohr model of the atom which most people are familiar with (It wasn’t perfect but he got a lot right), he helped fight Nazis in Denmark, he worked on the Manhattan Project which made nuclear energy possible, and when he won the Nobel Prize for his work, Carlberg gave him a house with a direct line to their brewery so he had free beer on tap for the rest of his life!

Also Bohr is the hero of my favourite story about a scientist ever- He was found by Danish police climbing the outside of a bank one night after a drunken bet with another scientist he’d met at a dinner party 😀 http://www.fampeople.com/articles-niels-bohr-climbing-robber
