      Hi Emma,

      Leonardo da Vinci in Italy sketched plans for a robot that looked quite human around 500 years ago, but never build it.
      The Japanese build some of the first robots, automated puppets that were used in religious festivals in the 17th century called Karakuri zui. This is how they look today:
