      Hiya!

that’s a difficult question! Do you mean the planet gets destroyed or humans go extinct?
There are lots of different ways the world could end.

      1) The sun engulfs the earth – this will eventually happen. When I say eventually I mean in about 7 billions of year. Hopefully humans can fly somewhere else by then.
      2) Being hit by a meteor. That is not very likely to happen either.
      3) Aliens come and destroy the planet. They have vast distances to travel though, so I wouldn’t worry about this too much.

Thinking about it there isn’t actually that much that could destroy the whole planet. I think destroying ecosystems in the world, like rain forests and reef is more likely and might be really dangerous for our own survival! Maybe my fellow scientists can talk about that?

Hi Lydia, great answer! If we keep using fossil fuels at the rate we are, they sea levels will continue to rise which would have a major impact on the whole planet.

Oh the world will end, there’s no getting around that. As Lydia said, the sun will eventually flare up and engulf the planet in about 7 billion years.

I recon that if the world ends before that, it’ll be because some idiot let all the nuclear weapons off. Even then, that would just destroy most life on earth. Bacteria would probably survive that, and life would eventually evolve again. Life is surprisingly tough, everywhere scientists have looked on this planet, they’ve found life.
