Question: Did you always like genetics?

Yes – I had a really good teacher in secondary school, and my first introduction to genetics was doing Punnett squares and crosses in fruit flies. Funnily enough, I ended up working in a lab with fruit flies as a model after I finish my PhD. I am still learning genetics, I would say! There’s still so much we don’t know, but I am completely drawn to how these molecules in us influence our traits.
