      Yes, we have found how a protein I’ve studied for a long time interacts with other proteins and is changed a bit so it interacts with some proteins a bit better. No one knows because we have to write something about it and tell everyone! Still working on experiments to get more evidence before we do that. Shh…don’t tell anyone!

      The route I have taken in science means that I won’t work in research and discovery. That’s ok with me, there are many other amazing scientists that are.

    I work along side researchers who have found new antimicrobials, (things that can be used to kill bad bacteria and help treat infections that make you sick). I have also helped researchers identify a peptide, (a very small protein), that can help stop infections and biofilm formation. Biofilms are sticky protective layers bacteria make that can let them stick inside our bodies and make us sick.
