Question: Have you ever studied microplastics before ?

Yes, I’m not a chemist nor an environmental scientist but microplastics are a big concern to me and many people. Once plastic waste escapes to the environment it is unlikely to be broken down completely to carbon dioxide and water, just get fragemented smaller and smaller into microplastics and even nanoplastics, and we don’t fully know what the effect of this may be on ecosystems and the food chain. In my final year project for my degree, I designed and carried out experiments to see if bacteria were likely to form biofilms on microplastics and tried to predict possible effects.
