Thanks for your question Laur3n! Normally I’d start by reading papers from other scientists who have conducted the same/similiar experiment to see what possible protocols to use, as well as see what results other people have found so I know what to expect. Then I’d start setting up the experiment, ordering and preparing all the materials I’ll need. After running the experiment, I will analyse the data that I gathered and relate it back to the purpose or the question that the experiment is asking. Does that answer your question?
