Thanks for your very thoughtful question. I love epidemiology, we did a module on nutritional epidemiology in college which basically looks how different nutritional factors can influence disease risk in different groups of people. As a case study, studying the epidemiology of infectious diseases side by side with vaccine introduction is particularly interesting. From a teaching perspective, I think that epidemiology is also great to start considering the maths that encodes the different patterns and relationships that can be uncovered in our datasets. What aspects of epidemiology do you like, have you looked at any case studies or examples maybe?
