Yes, from my perspective it’s been a great experience to be able to take part in, the questions I’ve been asked are so interesting and I’m learning loads myself. I think that the chats/message-board style questions maybe make it easier to ask questions that wouldn’t get asked in a classroom setting, which is great. I also think it’s helpful to see that there’s no one ‘scientist’ personality type (because we can get stereotyped very easily, see Big Bang Theory for an example!) – scientists are also people with hobbies and friends and families, and anyone can become one really, as long as you are interested in the world around you and finding out how things work.
