• Question: what happens to the proteins in our bodies when we take medicine

      A lot of drugs work in two ways.

      1.They attach a protein and stop it doing its job. This may be an illness where the protein is now doing something it shouldn’t so we want to stop it doing the wrong thing

      2. They interact with a protein making it more active. This could be a protein that is doing something good but not doing it as effectively as it could. therefore we want to increase its activity

      The vast majority of proteins in a body are completey unaffected by drugs
