      There are so many best things. I love my job. I love teaching the next generation. I love that what I do will help patients. That is why we conduct clinical trials. The end goal is to improve patient care.

      When experiments work haha! Because quite often they do not!

      More seriously, I love working with other scientists at the edge of our current knowledge as a society – things like the scientific method, peer review of our work and research integrity hold us up to a high standard to ensure that the discoveries we make are true, significant discoveries and reproducible. Also, the thought that my work could, in some small part, help people who are suffering with infections by bacteria that do not respond to the antibiotics that we have at present is a great motivation.
