      I only study epilepsy and related neurological diseases to epilepsy so I only work on drugs to treat epilepsy

      I am researching new antimicrobials that can block bacteria from talking with oneanother – although it is at an early stage, we expect that they could be used to help kill bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are a growing problem and can cause all kinds of infections – a recent study reported that 33,000 people die each year in Europe due to an infection with bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics
