I moved around courses a lot actually, I think that biological and chemical sciences were a good fit for me in general. I started off my degree in Herbal Science, then moved to a more general course in Biosciences before specialising in Nutritional and Health Science. I think in general that Biology/Chemistry is such a wide area that it is great for some people to start in a broad course that allows you to pick your specialisation after you have had the chance to try different modules. For me, microbiology and also plant science were probably my favourites and doing a 4 months of work experience in a lab researching fermented foods (foods that are made/transformed by the actions of microbes like bacteria, fungi and viruses) helped me decide to specialise in this area.
