I remember learning about this experiment in secondary school and college! I don’t know exactly what level of detail you are studying it, but I guess it’s particularly interesting as it was the first time that a subatomic particle (the electron) was shown to exist. You can recap the setup of the experiment to show how Thompson reasoned about the existence and nature of these tiny subatomic particles, or electrons as we now know them.
