Unfortunately not, all mussels (and other things that live in the river-bed) are affected by dirty water, they are harmed by chemical pollution, and the soil in the water can after their eating and breathing organs. Because mussels are filter-feeders, this means they suck water into their shells to get food, they are really sensitive to anything in the water, so they’re not able to survive in dirty water
