Very tough question that you ask there, but here is my attempt at answering it.
Monotheists religions present God as an immaterial being. Because god is immaterial, the existence of god is not something that can be tested scientifically. Science is the study and the understanding of the natural (material, testable) world, not the study of an immaterial (therefore non testable) entity. That means that science can’t prove or disprove god. You can be a scientist and believe in god, and you can be a non-scientist and not believe in god. However, science can bring answers to natural questions in which religion had to play a part in the past (e.g. is the Earth at the center of the universe?).
