Zoology is a huge branch of study within biology. Zoology is the study of all animal life, including all living and dead animals. This includes tiny fleas, spiders and flies, to birds, mammals, frogs and the now extinct dinosaurs, and many, many more! A zoologist studies an amazing range of topics including where animals live, how many animals are there, how do animals survive (e.g. how do polar bears survive the cold Arctic winter?), how do they reproduce, what do they eat, what diseases do they get, and much more.
And while studying zoology is useful for helping someone get a job in a zoo, very few zoologists (people who study zoology) actually work in a zoo.
