Science can be boring definitely… sometimes you sit there counting sea squirts all day. But I think every job can be boring sometimes.

Yup Kathryn’s right- of course it can be boring at times. Physics can involve reading equations, and coding can be boring if you’re testing lots of different things using the same code. But all the exciting stuff balances that out. I love my research because it involves lab work and computer work- if I get bored in the lab I can go and write some code, if I get bored of coding I can go run an experiment.

Most times it is very interesting, but whatever job you end up doing, whether it is science related or not you will at times get bored doing stuff. That’s why as Sarah said its good to vary it around a bit. Sometimes you have to keep at stuff even if its boring, makes you appreciate the good times which you have them!
