Hmmm, from a biological point of view we went through periods of evolution where we separated from other apes and now are so socially, behaviorally, and culturally isolated from other animals that we are an independent species. If you mean socially, or ethically, what makes us human then I think everyone has their own opinions about that. I think that our care for other humans, creative thinking and have the capability to communicate our thoughts to each other in many ways and that’s what makes us human.

Yeah that’s definitely a tricky one. I would say our brains make us uniquely human- speech, thoughts, intelligence, etc.

Good viewpoints the others have made. I think the main think that makes humans able to do the things we can is down to speech. Given how similar we are to the chimp, once we learned how to properly communicate was when our species ‘homo sapien’ really took off. Homo sapien translates as ‘wise man’
