      It all depends on what function you’re talking about. Neuroscientists are able to use something called an fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) to see what parts of your brain “light up” in a scanner when you feel a certain way. That’s how we know that a bit of your brain called the amygdaloid is involved in fear, and memory for example.
