Honestly I would advise to not use energy drinks until you are an adult.
Most of the energy drinks are formulated for the adult body’s needs and they are quite different from the one of a 13 years child.
No I don’t think so. We should all get our energy from whole foods and not sugary or caffeinated drinks or gels. Whole foods are more nutritious than these drinks or gels and provide us with lots of nutrients. If we eat a varied balanced diet, we should be getting enough energy and nutrients for our bodies to work optimally.
There are some exceptions, some people, for example diabetics may need to have sugary drinks near them in case their blood sugar levels fall too low, however their doctors should be able to tell them if they are needed. Also people that do ultra endurance events such as ultra marathons may like to use gels as they don’t have the time to eat or can’t keep food down while competing. However they return to eating varied balanced meals after the event,to allow their body to recover.
I don’t think they are very good, because they have lots of sugar and chemicals. It would be better to get the nutrients and energy you need from actual food, through a balanced diet.
