Question: could you geneticly breed cows to stop burping?

  No because when they eat food, burping is a part of their digestion. They have to burp otherwise they would pop! However we could somehow reduce the about of microbes that produce methane in the digestive tract (rumen) so that less methane is burped out.

Question: could you geneticly breed cows to stop burping?
