Carrots contain high levels of beta-carotene. We need beta-carotene for seeing at night, and seeing out wide from our eyes (peripheral vision). Beta-carotene is also converted to vitamin A in our bodies. Vitamin A helps protect the surface of they eyes and helps with night time vision too. There are other sources of beta-carotene including sweet potato and red and yellow peppers. But carrots are the most well known source.

Carrots are rich source of vitamin A, a nutrient essential for good vision. Eating carrots or consuming carrot juice will provide you with the small amount of vitamin A that you need for good vision and healthy eyes, but its not limited to carrots. You can also get Vitamin A from other foods like milk, cheese, egg.
