No I don’t think many people know. As vaping is a new enough trend, there are no long term studies on its effect on health. Some short term studies suggest they are not very good for us, but we don’t have enough evidence yet.
When cigarettes first came out everyone thought they were great, now we know they are not good for our health and they are addictive.
Personally, I think vaping might be okay for short term replacement of cigarettes in order to try quit smoking, but there has been no studies on their effectiveness. Long term I don’t think their use should be continued. Quitting smoking aids found in pharmacies such as nicotine patches and gums are regulated, safe and effective and should be used to quit smoking before trying vaping. However, none of these methods are effective without willpower, as an addictive habit needs to be broken and this is not easy.
