Dheeraj Rathore answered on 19 Nov 2019:

Food crops are grown differently in different countries, depending upon the weather conditions, seasons and local demands of food. For example: Potato remains the third most important food crop in the world after rice and wheat. Irish potato continues be play an important part in Irish diets. Potatoes grown in Ireland can be broken down into four main growing types: Early Potatoes, Main Crop Potatoes, Seed Potatoes and Salad Potatoes.
In Ireland, Potatoes are sown in late March to mid April, which are ready for the harvest as early potatoes in June and supply the market until early September.
While in India, potatoes are sown twice a year; the kharif crop is sown by end of June while rabi crop is sown from mid of October-November which is again region specific.
Thus, the crops are planted depending upon the season and crop type.
