I am not sure, but we can eat foods together in a balance meal to get enough of all the nutrients.
If we eat chicken and pasta we can get protein from the chicken and carbohydrates from the pasta. If we eat a mixed veg casserole, we can get protein from peas, beans and lentils. We can get carbohydrates from potatoes. We can get lots of vitamins and minerals from lots of different veg, so if we had broccoli and peppers we would get iron and vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin B. If we had spinach we would have even more iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium. If we eat a wide variety of foods we can get enough nutrients to allow our bodies work to their best abilities

I can’t think of any particular food that has an equal about of carbohydrates and proteins, but a meal (e.g. a roast dinner) can have equal amounts of proteins, carbohydrates and maybe even other nutrients. It’s important to eat a balanced meal and a variety of foods together, because then your body will be getting the nutrients it needs and some nutrients depend on other nutrients for absorption in the body so it’s best for them to be eaten together.
