      It’s a sickness caused by a virus called Paramyxovirus.
      Luckly it’s very very rarely dangerous and it’s difficult to catch it more then once in your life.

      Measles is an illness caused by a virus and is highly contagious, where it can be passed from person to person.

      Measles is a very contagious disease. It can make people very sick, and if one person has it they can spread it to lots and lots of people.
      Luckily scientists made a vaccine to protect us against measles. We can all get this vaccine as part of the MMR vaccine. If we have the full vaccine we are unlikely to get it.
      However really small babies can not get the vaccine until they are older, and some really sick people may loose their protection from the disease. It is important that everybody that can get the vaccine does, to protect these people, as if they get measles they might find it difficult to fight the disease.
