To be able to work with the cows themselves! This morning I took milk samples from the cows, then encouraged cows to use the methane measurement machines and then I fill up their feeder with meal and then I got them in for milking again this afternoon. My days are never the same

Getting to help farmers to grow plants with the help of microbes. Getting to contribute to the way in which food is produced gives me much joy

I love that we get to work with food. It is what everyone needs everyday, and there’s so much we still don’t know about all foods.

I love doing experimentation and take observations. Another part I really like is the science outreach activities, I recently organised science week at Teagasc Oak Park, where more than 100 primary school kids visted to get hands on experience on DNA extractions, disease and insect/pest identification. They just loved it and I am delighted to be part of it.
