Question: what sort of diseases do plants get infected with?

Plant get infected with all kind of diseases that we can get sick, such as viral diseases cause yellowing and leaf curling, bacterial diseases can cause galls, cankers, and cell death, fungal diseases like mildews, blight and rusts, nematodes cause root knots, whereas insects either work as carrier of these diseases (aphids carry barley yellow dwarf virus) or can cause diseases in plants such as thrips suck cell sap leading to cell death.
