Question: Are freckles hereditary

Good question! there are gene versions that are found to be expressed more in people with freckles but sometimes people without those versions also produce freckles. I am not an expert on this but apparently anyone can have freckles regardless of their genetic background, but “the degree of freckles appearing on the face, shoulders and chest is hereditary”.
